[syslinux] MEMDISK: Image seems to have fractional end cylinder

Did you think of /dev/hda1?

Memdisk takes a disk image, and the partition table is part of this. Try
/dev/hda (the whole disk) instead of /dev/hda1 (first partition on disk).
