[syslinux] I want to use a ram disk as / after network booting.

There are several open source thin client distributions that use a 
permanent initrd (or initramfs).  Try Thinstation.sf.net, PXES.sf.net or 
DIET-PC.sf.net.  LTSP is not suitable for this purpose.
