Ok, I was using the append syntax first, but when I discovered the other 
syntax did work from the menu I kept on using it for the keyboard. So it 
was confusing to see the difference in behaviour from the commandline vs.
the menu.

Thanks for your help.

PS I takes a long time (more than 20mins) for a mail send to the list to 
arrive in my mailbox. I could harm discussions when more people are 
replying in that same window.
