[syslinux] 1 model out of a dozen hangs at "loading boot sector... booting..."

Just a tiny nit-pick here: Syslinux version and MEMDISK version do not
need to match. MEMDISK is a "Linux x86 kernel" and does not depend on
Syslinux; it follows the Linux x86 kernel protocol.
For example, you can boot MEMDISK with another (non-Syslinux)
boot-loader.
COMBOOT32 modules should really be matched to the appropriate Syslinux
version for best results.
Ultimately, we don't know what "itcpe114.dd.gz" is. :)
I do recall a bug with:
gPXE -> MEMDISK + large_image.gz
The bug was not present with:
gPXE -> PXELINUX -> MEMDISK + large_image.gz
So I would not expect a bug for:
ipxelinux.0 (iPXE -> PXELINUX) -> MEMDISK + itcpell4.dd.gz
If Gene's suggestion doesn't work with your (Jeff's) testing tomorrow,
the more information about this INITRD, the better. :)
