[syslinux] 1 model out of a dozen hangs at "loading boot sector... booting..."

Good day, Jeff.

You might not be able to generalize and use the same option everywhere;
different systems and different MEMDISK images may require different
options. Some details are provided in the section of the documentation
where you read about the existence of the 'raw' option.

Trial and error, perhaps. Or you could use client-specific
config-files, like this:

pxelinux.cfg/default
pxelinux.cfg/use_raw
pxelinux.cfg/01-00-24-ab-4f-56-5d (sym link -> use_raw)

where 'default' would invoke MEMDISK without the 'raw' option and
'use_raw' would be identical to 'default' but for using the 'raw'
option.

If you are using gPXE or iPXE, there are fancier things you can do, such
as download a specific config-file based on the computer model.

It also looks like some of this fancier stuff is coming into Syslinux.
