Thank you Geert. The screenshots transcriptions are:
syslinux.efi, load kernel and initramfs but doesn't boot (last line is
a rEFInd prompt, but it doesn't respond):

Legacy OS entry:
"No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"
BIOS-based PC when I copied the files by hand instead of using the
installer (sorry about that):
"This is not a bootable disk. Please insert a bootable floppy and
press any key to try again ..."
