No, although there is a 2.5 MB compressed limit built into the kernel
build process -- it's actually an arbitrary and bogus limit.

Yes, *ASSUMING* the isolinux directory isn't compressed.

This is used, for example, on the SuperRescue CD images.

There is some kind of error dump that almost looks like something is
trying to read a floppy image.  This is not coming from isolinux; in
fact, it looks like it's coming from the kernel boot sector.

What is your file image *named*?  If it is named something like foo.bs
or foo.bin it is probably being misidentified.
