[syslinux] not able to boot serial console then to GDM/X

Please make sure that /dev/console and /dev/tty0 are (5,1) and (4,0), 
respectively.  Also, some older versions of X incorrectly opened 
/dev/console instead of /dev/tty0, you may want to check.
