[syslinux] Rebooting to hard drive from DOS floppy

Yes! That works perfectly.

I set jo.sys to a 1 second timeout, then put it on a bootable floppy under a
different name, say freejo.sys, so that it is not activated.

DOS boots normally, runs, and then I rename freejo.sys to jo.sys and run an
int19.com that I acquired elsewhere (which makes the PC reboot). With the
floppy still in the drive, jo.sys now makes the system boot to the hard
drive without user intervention.

Exactly what I wanted. Thanks a million Peter (and Bart!)!

Hi all,

Do any of you have any ideas for getting a DOS floppy to reboot to the hard
drive (which may contain Windows 98 or XP or Linux or Novell etc etc)? I
want to use syslinux, but it does not support the localboot option like
pxelinux and isolinux do.

Basically, I want to boot DOS from a floppy, run some DOS stuff, then
to the hard drive while leaving the floppy disk in the drive. Loadlin would
be perfect if it supported OSes other than Linux.
