[syslinux] problem booting

hello,

I am trying make a hard disk with two partions (one dos and one minix) to
boot using syslinux. But it always hangs in the Copyright message. It does
not display the "boot:" message. I already copied a kernel named "linux"
in the partion with syslinux.
I also tried formating the whole drive with fdisk and use syslinux, it
works fine when I use this method.
