If you run the PXE daemon that is bundled with most RedHat and Fedora
distros, you don't need to touch your DHCP server. However, you probably
won't need to use pxelinux in such setting. I haven't played with Linux
PXE daemon is a couple of years so I can offer any additional information.

You could use syslinux, but pxelinux isn't going to get you anywhere
without DHCP. The Redhat boot floppies/CDROM use syslinux/isolinux. Quite
a few other distributions use these as well. Of course you could always
set up your own DHCP server and only have reservations based on the MAC
addresses of those 100 servers.

Hi,

We have some 100 Servers (includes both Intel and PPC based systems). Is
there any way to easly install OS (different flavours of Linux) on these
systems ? We do not have control over the DHCP Server settings so is there

any way to do this with out touching the DHCP Server ?

We have static IPs for all the systems.

Regards,
Naveen
