"INT 13 08: SUCCESS" is what I see now, and what I should see according 
to the same screen shown very briefly on booting an image as A:.

So, everything is OK now.

Does MEMDISK have a debug/wait option?
"press any key to actually boot the ramdisk image"

a 10sec delay would also be fine instead. Gives enough time to hit PAUSE 
key (or a VMware screenshot). 'mdiskdbg' or something perhaps?
