If you have system with 256MB RAM, a 256MB compactflash card and IDE adapter, you can run WinXP from RAM.
Perhaps PXElinux will also help, and save you from using harddisk or above mentioned compactflash.

Basically it involves creating a WinPE (maybe only BartPE) LiveCD, then using a few files from Win2003SP1-RC1 to obtain the 'boot from RAMDISK' functionality.

Which ISO images can actually boot? only MSDOS?

If LinuxBIOS people would integrate Smart Boot Manager's Eltorito-stack, then they would also have 'boot from cdrom' functionality.
