GMane allows you to encrypt all e-mail addresses (actually anything that
looks remotely like an e-mail address), so that they aren't visible on the
NNTP interface - they look something like this:
<jernej.listsonly-lXNMKbDqVIA at public.gmane.org> (this address actually
works and forwards messages to the real address, but only after validating
the sender's e-mail address). The HTTP interface will also hide the e-mail
addresses, and will display an image with the address if you click on the
link.

IMHO, GMane has one of the nicest HTTP interfaces to archives, and nothing
beats NNTP access.
