[syslinux] Boot menu?

I am not sure if anyone has attempted to accomplish this or not and I
have been googling around looking for some examples of using the
PXE/TFTP/DHCP configuration to display a boot menu based off a function
key press.

ex. DHCP gets network address
user presses F5 and PXE boot menu appears
user then has a set of options for local boot or loading a new
image file

Any help, examples are appreciated. Here is what I am *attempting* to
get to work

[tftproot/pxelinux.cfg/default]
#default LOCAL
#prompt 0
#timeout 3

#MENU TITLE PXE Menu

#MENU LABEL label

# LABEL LOCAL
# MENU LABEL ^Local Boot
# LOCALBOOT 0

# LABEL WindowsImages
# MENU LABEL ^WindowsImages
# APPEND initrd=WindowsBoot.img

# LABEL LinuxImages
# MENU LABEL ^LinuxImages
# APPEND initrd=PXELinux.img
