[syslinux] Syslinux boot problems with Flash Disk - prints character 'j'

I wonder if it could be worth a shot to just sort of try "booting it
differently."  What I mean is, instead of the standard method, perhaps
try the USB-ZIP trick?  I think it should still be bootable as USB-HDD
like this on the BIOSes that do work, but maybe it will change the way
it is booted enough to get it to work on the one buggy BIOS?  Oh, and
don't worry, to things like Windows the flash drive is exactly the
same (and in linux you just have to get used to sdx4 instead of sdx1.)
