Okay, now I'm really confused... what, then, is the difference between 
Vmplayer, Workstation, and Server?  Especially between Vmplayer and Server?

I've personally found that having the VM access floppy drives or CD-ROMs 
in Vmware Server tend to work marginally at best.  That's definitely one 
issue.
