That's very simple: treat it like a hard disk.  If you plug it in a
running operating system, a new (hard) disk should come up.  Under
Linux, it will appear as /dev/sdX, where X=a if you have no SCSI disks
in the system.  Partition it if needed, and the rest is explained in
syslinux.txt in the syslinux distribution.
