This looks like the ISOLINUX large directory problem that Steffen 
Winterfeldt posted a patch for a few days ago.  I'm starting to think 
this is a big enough problem to justify a 3.76 release, and/or a 
speedtracking of the 3.80 release.

I have made a 3.76-pre1 release of this for now; please see if that 
solves your problem.
