I usually use tabs for code indentation, and when I need to line up
comments, I'll use the same number of tabs as the code line it needs
to line up to, then fill the rest with spaces. This ensures that the
comments line up properly regardless of tab width (I also use this for
code that needs to be wrapped to multiple lines).
