By top left corner do you mean the top left corner of the box with a
box character indented on the top row?
If so I had what appears to be the same issue when using a serial
console. However I thought it was the term emulator.

Hmm, ok you mention term emulator so I assume you are connected
serially. I never say a reboot or any other message, it was just hung.
