This is because terminus.zytor.com still use sendmail as the MTA. 
sendmail tries to deliver each mail to each recipient serially, which 
means that if there is a hanging server somewhere it can take a very 
long time.  Unfortunately the Syslinux mailing list is large enough that 
there generally *will* be someone whose server is broken at any time...

I don't really see myself having time to set up a new MTA (and porting 
all the local configuration hacks over) any time soon, though.
