I doubt that it is correct to identify the
Primary Volume Descriptor at LBA 16 as the
superblock.
The mount facilities of Linux and FreeBSD,
associate the superblock address with
the start of the System Area (i.e LBA 0).
They have options sbsector= resp. -s which
expect PVD-address - 16 as argument.


Well, i guess it is ok if you plan to show the
partition offset only to the BIOS and then do
everything via the disk device file sda rather
than via the partition device sda1.

Nevertheless sda1 will become a pitfall.
Can one trust that booted systems will not
try to mount that address ?
(I understand with offset 0 it coincides
 with sda.)
