http://syslinux.zytor.com/wiki/index.php/DRMK#Version_Comparison

I've tested the scenarios of installing Syslinux (as of my commit
e6b2efeead92156dc75cf83267520b0a6a6d033f) and using chain.c32 (same
commmit) on the as-shipped images that I found from Dell, along with
the ones that the Diags builders made and then made a few of my own
that I documented at the Wiki page, along with their results.

So far, my theory on how to load DRMK is holding. As long as the FAT
Boot Sector/BIOS Parameter Block contains the correct values in the
fields Sectors per Track, Heads and Hidden Sectors, all of them worked
with no errors. I'm going to be contacting Dell in the next few days
to see if I can some how dig up more reliable information for how it's
supposed to work.
