you can't make existing debian-live images memdisk-bootable without
modifying them.

also, "everywhere" doesn't work anyway. you always have to check what
tools the people used and what those tools produce which kind of images,
and if these images are capable of what you want.

for debian-live images, as said, this is not the case (yet).

as said, you're using images that were built by too old tools. either
you build your own, or you wait until someone builds a newer one for you.

pxe != memdisk. we do have netboot images for pxe.
