Hallo, H. Peter,

Du meintest am 26.06.10:

>>> I found, that this not only a problem of the netinst cd, but
>>> also hardware dependent.
>>> I can boot my old 486 Toshiba Satellite laptop with this cd,
>>> but on my IBM Thinkpad T23 the cd produces the isolinux error:
>>>
>>> Error: no configuration file found.

> What does it say *before* that?

Now I've tested my home brewed pxelinux:

   <http://helmut.hullen.de/filebox/Linux/slackware/a/syslinux-tftpboot-4.00-i486-1hln.tgz>

(I've only copied the contents of "/usr/share/syslinux" - pre63 - to "/
tftpboot"), and the system seems to work in the same way as with
syslinux-3.8.4, especially without any error message.

Tested on the same 3 machines as with the debian *.iso image.

Is the message "reading sectors error(EDD)" a message only related to
isolinux?

Viele Gruesse!
Helmut
