Hallo, H. Peter,

Du meintest am 26.06.10:

>>> I can boot my old 486 Toshiba Satellite laptop with this cd,
>>> but on my IBM Thinkpad T23 the cd produces the isolinux error:
>>>
>>> Error: no configuration file found.

> What does it say *before* that?

Next trial:

"isolinux.bin" from 4.00-pre63 and
 kbdmap.c32
 menu.c32
 vesamenu.c32
 chain.c32

put into an "/isolinux" directory of a CD I "burn2 since some years.
With the 3.84 files all works well.

With the 4.00-pre63 files from

  <http://helmut.hullen.de/filebox/Linux/slackware/a/syslinux-4.00-pre63-i486-1hln.txz>

booting from CD on my Thinkpad T22 I get the 3 lines

 ISOLINUX 4.00 0x4c2833be ETCD Copyright ...
 EDD: Error reading sector 64
 ERROR: no configuration file found

Viele Gruesse!
Helmut
