Hello Paul,

Yes it seems like it would be ok to do if it's not guaranteed in the
binary.  I somewhat thought that the stage 2 binary would always have
defaults, then the stage 1 or 1.5 or whatever would patch in something
else.  I guess it depends on whether it's guaranteed or not.  I would
assume it's guaranteed, but could be mistaken.

Something to keep in mind once the Syslinux 4.00 release dust settles.
