Well, the --batch-output mode does not depend on MEMDISK version any 
more than MDISKCHK.COM already did, so its results do not require using 
the MEMDISK from the same branch.

--mbfts and --safe-hooks modes require a MEMDISK version where those 
were implemented.  They've been around for a few months now.

The only real reason you might wish to use the MEMDISK from this 
development branch over another is because of a bug fix in MEMDISK.  
Passing "nodpt" to MEMDISK also avoids this bug, but then you don't get 
a replacement DPT in INT 0x1E.

I guess the answer is, "yes, but it's not a big deal to use another 
MEMDISK."
