[syslinux] Nested SYSLINUX configurations -- error using CONFIG directive

This patch fixes the error described in this thread.
The patch permits ".." to be specified in a vfat filesystem
thereby permitting it's use in the APPEND portion of the
CONFIG directive in SYSLINUX.

I also changed the white-space formatting of two adjacent lines
in the source code.
