Could you try to boot a Debian daily image for i386 or amd64 ?
These images are isohybrid with a partition offset of 32 kB.
Both, /dev/sdX and /dev/sdX1 are mountable.
Goal is to see the install menue with spaceship and option "Help".

The following image has 47 MB:

Due to a bug in xorriso-1.0.1, image size is not aligned to a
full cylinder. This leads to fdisk complaining about "different
physical/logical beginnings" but seems elsewise harmless.
xorriso-1.0.4 produces nicely aligned images.

Have a nice day :)
