For plain text as-is, I agree.  I was leaning towards the blocks since
an indent only has 1 style by default (literal paragraph; monospace
font in blue) versus blocks offering a choice with listing style
looking attractive (adding a box with blue borders an light blue
background), at least for some use (ie, git only uses listing block in
gittutorial: http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/gittutorial.html
).
