Good question.

Honestly, I'm not sure how we're going to consolidate all the
branches/releases we have at the moment, but it's something that I'm
sure Peter has thought about.

I suspect what will probably happen is that we'll merge both 4.06 and
4.10 into 5.00 and try our best to move all new development to 5.00.
Now, that may not work out and I can certainly envisage a situation
where people *really* want the fragmented NTFS support on top of a 4.06
release, maybe in the form of 4.07 or something. We may be able to
accommodate that depending on how invasive the changes are.

None of this is set in stone.

Personally, once 4.06 is out I'd like to only keep it around as a
maintenance release. So, the only things that will be applied on top are
important bug fixes. It would also help if we could drop 4.10 to really
concentrate efforts or 5.00 and beyond. But like I said above, I'm sure
Peter has a plan in mind.
