[syslinux] question about global variables

Hello, I have a question. In wiki linux in chapter 5 I read the question:
Is There A Way To Define Constants Or Variables?
and answer on this question was :
At present, there is no way to define constants or variables in the configuration file. That feature will be added eventually. 

My question is: when you added this functionality and may be its already added?
