Interestingly, for Fedora 15, there's a uuid-devel, rather than a 
uuid-dev.  Also, it yields a /usr/include/uuid.h, rather than a 
/usr/include/uuid/uuid.h.  Also, it doesn't help 
syslinux/utils/isohybrid.c to compile. :)
