Hi,

thanks a lot for the quick response.

I am using syslinux 4.03 which is downloaded from kernel.org. The extlinux
precompiled binary is used with my PC.
I am using supermicro motherboard in my PC.

I am trying to boot linux (2.6.35.6 kernel version) using extlinux
bootloader.

Some times the system hangs at this point (Peter Anvin...) and only
powercycle will solve this problem.
I am not sure what is causing this problem? It may be BIOS issue or
bootloader issue not sure.

I thought of upgrading SYSLINUX 5.01. downloaded the source code from
kernel.org. But not able to run the extlinux binary on my PC as the 5.01
binary is built using GLIBC 2.7 and my PC has GLIBC 2.5. So i wanted to
build the extlinux from sources. But i found that extlinux Makefile refers
to some files in Libinstaller folder which are missing. These files are
../libinstaller/bootsect_bin.c , ../libinstaller/ldlinuxc32_bin.c
../libinstaller/ldlinux_bin.

So at this point i am neither able to use 5.01 extlinux binary nor able to
build the extlinux.

Please suggest what is the best solution to resolve this issue?

thanks in advance.
Regards,
Seetaram
