Odd.  I see zero attempts at network traffic.  It's as if it doesn't
detect gPXE as I see the same network traffic from pxelinux.0.

Matt, if you only need HTTP/FTP files, you could try out lpxelinux.0
instead of gpxelinux.0.  If you require additional services provided
by gPXE/iPXE, this won't help.
