[syslinux] UEFI/EFI booting and constantly asking for ldlinux.e64

So I compiled gcc version 4.9.3 and then did a make clean and make off 
of the GIT repo and still had the same response as before. Client would 
request syslinux.efi, fail and go to the next nic.

I used the test binaries and didn't notice any output difference on the 
console of the system.  The log files are as follows:

I'm not sure what to try next.
