Except that we care only about INT 13h AH 42h for now, indicated by CX
0001h.  Per Ralph Brown's Interrupt List, CX 0004h indicates if
functions AH 48h and AH 4Eh are valid.

Given the scant info at

alone, I could understand why you thought this may help.
