Which syslinux version?
What is the APPEND for mboot.efi ?

(In order to boot The Hurd on Devuan I had to edit mboot as it handled
arguments differently from grub. This is published as version
3:6.04~git20190206.bf6db5b4+dfsg1-3+devuan6 in Devuan repo. So it
might be related here, or not)
