vesamenu is unlikely to work with only 1 MB video RAM; although it's 
theoretically possible (640x480x24 bpp = 921,600 bytes) it's probably a 
text mode only setting.

If you could give me the output of vesainfo (com32/samples/vesainfo.c32) 
so I can verify that I would really appreciate it.
