I've just tried fdubcd-1.42 (3. March 2009) from

   http://ubcd.partedmagic.com/downloads/fdubcd/r133/fdubcd.igz

under syslinux (PXE) 3.84 (slackware tarball) with

label ubcd-Floppy
    MENU LABEL ^universelle Boot-Floppy
    KERNEL memdisk
    append raw
    initrd images/fdubcd.igz

and it works as expected.
