Yes - I know.
But offering the full blown *.iso with 700 MByte may be no good  
solution.

Next (possible) problem:
On my antique Compaq (about 16 years old) the systems comes to the  
"boot" prompt (with the same error message), "<tab>" shows the options,  
but no option/label is accepted.

Ok - 16 years old hardware may be too old.
The other test machines: Thinkpad T22, Thinkpad T43. They accept the  
labels, but they show no vesa menu.

Is there any option/command/... in the "isolinux.cfg" which works with  
syslinux 4.x but not with syslinux 5.x?
