Yes, I think that "something" is a change in the cross-compiler (I
upgraded my machine from Fedora 15 to Fedora 17 which changed the
Windows cross-compiler from mingw32 to mingw-w64.)

Something is buggy, obviously.  Anyone who knows Windows willing to take
a look?  It would be nice to have a Windows equivalent of "strace"...
