the images are built by using too old tools for being able to be booted
through memdisk.

the newest image referenced there is clonezilla-live-1.2.5-32-i686.iso
from 2010-07-05 that uses live-initramfs 1.236.2-1 (plus patches), which
dates back to 2010-05-18.

the referenced commit of mine to live-boot (which replaces
live-initramfs) and supposedly adds support for being booted through
memdisk is from 2010-07-03.
